Silver Gallium Selenide (AgGaSe2) has been demonstrated to be an efficient frequency doubling crystal for infrared radiation as well as an excellent crystal for nonlinear three-wave interactions. It has low optical absorption, low scattering, and low wavefront distortion. Its possible applications include differential absorption LIDAR, surgical procedures, and IR wave plates.
